Progress Update 4/16

Captain Chinstrap and the Lost Loot is nearing completion!

Since our last update we have updated environments to feel more interactive. When the player hovers over an interactable object, their mouse cursor will change to a fun sword, and the objects in the scene will cast a yellow glow.

The opening and ending cutscenes have been completed and are currently in the process of being implemented into the project itself. Final scenes such as celebration and “thanks for playing” are being added as well.

A few parts of the dialogue have been rewritten to include more obvious hints on where Chinstrap should go or what objects he needs to progress. These hints are bolder and will stand out in the game’s dialogue boxes for easy readability.

NPC animations are underway and making progress. Sound effects are also being added to Chinstrap’s animations. These include special sounds for his movement, object usage, and dialogue.

The games programming is making steady progress! For the last few weeks we have been working on finding a suitable pipeline between Blender, Adobe Premier, and Unity to implement all our animations. Now that we have a solid pipeline, progress is much smoother.

Our itch page is under the process of redesign as we speak. Check back for updated art!
